• Always prioritize outcomes and search for the results of the outcome that you consider to be most important.

RCT looking at the effects of a special enteral nutrition formula

• ICU patients with APACHE II > 10 or TISS ᡌ
• 147 pts received special formula, 132 received normal formula
• reported a significant decrease of 8 days in LOS for special group (pɘ.05)
• reported that special nutrition group experienced significantly less mortality than predicted by APACHE II scores
